Can I slow down the audio voice selected in Storyline 360?
I am using one of the audio voice pre-loaded in Storyline 360 and it seems they are all speaking very fast. Is there a way to slow their speech?
Hi, everyone!
I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 83, we've included important fixes and new features!
One of the new features we've included:
- Unlock new possibilities for text-to-speech audio. Use speech synthesis markup language (SSML) to adjust the speaking rate, modify pronunciation, emphasize words, add pauses, and more.
Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you need additional help!

I've added another feature request for this one. We do use punctuation to 'slow down' the text to speech, but sometimes the words themselves are read at hyperspeed and the gaps just make is sound ridiculous. We also find that the spacing can be quite inconsistent, especially when reading bulleted lists.
It would be great to be able to add the .75 - 1.25 adjustments to the audio editor for developers. - DorothyCheung-dCommunity Member

Here is another vote for better speech control.

I am also adding my vote for the ability to adjust the speed (tempo) on audio files. Most importantly for Text to Speech audio files.

Another vote for speech tempo control. This is desperately needed.

Interested in this feature too, as well as enabling other settings on text to speech like output file quality and bitrate

I want to add my +1 as well. This feature would be amazingly helpful even when it just needs to be dropped by 5% because it's a fairly complicated sentence - it is more than adding silence. I need to be able to slow down the syllables.

I am upvoting this... We need it to be able to be slowed down instantly, the timing portion would be a good place to allow us to up the duration and have the speech slow as we increase the duration.

Upvote! Could it please be applied to only sections or to individual words or syllables?
Not and all-or-nothing.
Word EMPHASIS also - PLEASE.
+1 on the quality/bitrate. - JozsefMedveCommunity Member
I have just started my trial version, and found the text-to-speech feature, which is very useful for me, as non-native speaker. But very soon I run into this limitation: even my US colleagues found that the narration is too fast. As the majority of the course audience will be non-native speakers, possibility of slowing down the audio would be extremely helpful.
- In its simplest form: Possibility to slow down at the text to speech conversion.
- But I see the point of the fast listeners, so a much more flexible solution would be to allow the user to adjust the speed to their needs in the player. Thanks for considering!
