Cue Points

Is it possible to add cue points to an audio file in the audio editor tool? So far, I only see cue points as an option in the timeline.

  • Hi Rachell!

That's a great question. Currently, you can add cue points in the timeline, but not in the Audio Editor.

Can you tell me a bit more about how you'd use cue points in the Audio Editor? It's a neat idea, and I'm curious to know what you had in mind for that feature. Thanks!

I'd like to see it work the same way cue points in the timeline work.  You can play the audio and type c to add a cue point.  Then save it into the timeline and align other objects to the cue points.  I'd prefer using cue points as compared to the timeline because it is a larger frame to see the audio spikes and you can add the cue points in a more precise location.

  • That makes sense, Rachell. Thanks for that context! I'll be sure to pass your idea along to my team. 🙂

  • This would be helpful to me as well. I'm using Storyline360. Audio is set to automatically play at the start of the timeline, but instead of seeing a waveform I have a flat line (even when magnified all the way).
