Problem with cue points when pausing and resuming slide

I use cue points to avoid having to synchronize the elements on the timeline again and again in multilingual projects.
I use cue points that are triggered by the end of an audio file. The timeline is continued at this point and the audio file positioned there is played. The end of this audio file then jumps to the next cue point and so on.

This works very well, except when the timeline is paused, either via the function in the player or when another browser window or browser tab is opened.

After resuming (via the play button in the player or by returning to the browser tab), the page two audio files are played in parallel or the currently played audio file is played in a loop.

  • The problem even occurs in the preview:

When pausing the timeline, audios (and closed captions) are played in parallel. The problem occurs not when pausing during th first audio but only when playing the the second, third or fourth audio.

I have created a slide which shows how the slide is built:

  • Hello Martin,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I tested your project file and observed the same behavior - audio overlaps when the timeline is paused. Since your triggers mainly control the timeline, I suspect the behavior is caused by the choice of triggers, and using Media triggers as an alternative might help address it. I understand however that this will require a redesign and it also won't address the issue with resynchronization.

Nevertheless, I opened a support case on your behalf so our support engineers can clarify the behavior. You're in good hands, and someone from out team will be in touch shortly to help troubleshoot!

  • Hello Jose,

I found out that the problem is caused by the last software releases.

In the release from 6th of June the problem doesn't exist.

There was a (other) problem with cue points before that (ocuuring in the releases from April-May) that caused for example loops of audio files.

This problem was solved with the release from 6th of June.

Then the current problem reoccured with one of the last releases.

For me it is vital, that jumping to cue points works as expected. Triggering an audio file by the end of another audio file is no solution as screentext and other media need a defined starting point too.

      Hi MartinVolckart
I see that you've opened a support case and you're working with our colleague Christian. You're in excellent hands! We'll continue the conversation over in your case.

      Have a wonderful weekend!

I am new to the community. I have checked and tried by defining the time instead of cue points. It is working fine.

I am not sure if it addresses the problem
