Have you tried adding the hide layer trigger at the top of the list, before all of the jump to slide triggers?
The order of the triggers is important when trying to get everything working.
See also the modified story file witht the added trigger. It seems to work as you intended.
That's a common issue with triggers in Storyline.
Make sure your "Hide Layer" trigger is placed before your "Jump to slide" trigger on the "Continue" button. Also, check the layer properties to see if it's set to "Hide other slide layers" to prevent any overlap.
