Drag and Drop - Revert back to Normal state

Hello,

I am new to storyline 360 and creating a drag and drop activity.

How can we revert back the status whenever the object automatically returns back to its position (because another object was dragged to the target).

I have tried it by putting a hotspot (solid fill 100% transparency) under the drag item and set a trigger to change the state of the drag item to normal when it is dropped on the hotspot but it isn't working.

How do I get the object return to its original state when they return to their original position?

Thank you.

  • Here is my .story file, please see the 1st two blanks. As the sequence of the first two blanks doesn't matter and I also want to show a layer when the status of all is drop correct.

  • Hi Sunny!

I'm happy to help! I think hotspots are a better choice than using the line shape. I've made this change on slide 2 in the attached project. You can also add a trigger on the layer that changes the state of each rectangle to normal when the user presses a button to hide the layer.

Take a look at the second slide, and let me know if you have any questions!

Hi, Sorry but this doesn't help me. (or I didn't get your point)

Please check my slide, I want to show a layer when the state of all rectangle is drop correct, and that works fine when we keep it simple, but when I am saying that the sequence of the first two words doesn't matter this is the point where I am facing the issue.

Like, first I set the trigger that if the word positive drops on line 1 then change the state of that rectangle but when another word respectful is dropping on line 1 (word positive), positive word go back to its position but the state of that word is still dropped correctly. hope you are getting my point.

      Thank you.

Please check this recording that what is happening, in last you can see that the positive word has come back to its position which means it is not dropped yet but still that layer comes and says please proceed. ( that layer comes when the state of all rectangles is dropped correct but when a rectangle comes back to its position then its state should be changed back to the normal so that layer doesn't appear until all dragged items are dropped correctly.

      Thank you.

  • Hi, Sunny.

    Thank you for clarifying!

Other members of the community might have some different suggestions for you to accomplish what you're looking to do, but the first thing I would try is to change the feedback option.

Go to the Drag & Drop options, and uncheck Delay item drop states until interaction is submitted.
