Error Message

I keep attempting to open a storyline file and I get the following error message .

"Project is invalid or corrupt and cannot be opened. It may have been created in an earlier version of Storyline" 

I have reverted to previous versions of Storyline and it still has not opened. Any advice?

    Hey Lisa!

    Corrupt files are always so frustrating. I was able to find this thread that discusses some possible solutions as well as some preventative measures you can take in the future.

    Hi, Lisa.

    In the discussion Sam linked above, you will find the steps to search your temp folder for a possible version of your project. I wanted to post it here as well, in case others in the community also run into file corruption:

    1. Open this folder in Windows Explorer: %appdata%\Articulate\Storyline 
    2. Scan the contents of this folder for a file that starts with the name of the project. If you find one, copy it to your desktop. 
    3. Change the file extension of the copy on your desktop from *.tmp to *.story. 
    4. Double-click the file to open it in Storyline.
