Failed MS Word Export

Hello there:

I've tried several times to export to MS Word and I can't seem to do it. I've tried selecting different options for each export and none work. It allows me to choose an export location and says "Export successful" but no file appears in the location.

TIA for any help :)

  • Daniel,

I am a little confused. Are you talking about Storyline? Every time I want a Word Document I go to publish and publish to Word. When it is done it asks me if I want to view the file. I can't find an Export function.

  • Hi Daniel,

I'm happy to jump in! Some users experience this behavior when there are special characters in the Title when publishing to Word. Try using a short and simple title like 'test' and see if it helps.

Thanks all for your responses :)

So I'm a MAC user using Storyline in Parallels. I've tried the save as TEST suggested by Eric and same thing happens.

I'm wondering if its because I don't actually have MS WORD installed on my parallels?

I've tried installing, but I can't seem to get a local version, only the browser 365 because of my SSO :(

      Any/all help would be amazing!!!

      Phil:

I do have 365 installed and can't seem to find Word as a separate install anywhere.

I'm not a PC guy so am not sure what else to do.

        Hello Daniel,

        Happy to help!

It sounds like you are currently accessing the web-based version of Microsoft Office. You'll need to have any of these versions of Microsoft Office installed in order to use certain features of Storyline 360:

Microsoft Office 365 (desktop apps only) or the latest perpetual version of Microsoft PowerPoint (32-bit or 64-bit)

Mac users: Office apps must be installed in your Windows environment.

You may need to reach out to your IT staff so they can install the desktop version of Microsoft Office for you.

        Hope this helps!
