Problems with links, colors, text since update

Hello! I have been trying to figure out this new update with adding text.  Typically, we create content in a Google Doc/Word document and then copy and paste in.  Previously, regardless of the size font in the original doc, when I pasted into Rise, it add it at the size font of the template that I was using.  With the new update, it copies the formatting from the original document. I can work around that by fixing my font size in original document.

Second thing is that now when there is a linked article or attachment, that hyperlink copies into Rise--which is great and saves significant time.  The problem is that it also copies the color of the link from the original document and then when I brand for a specific client, the linked text remains the same and does not automatically update with the theme color as it did in the past.

Any suggested fixes, work arounds or adjustments I can make?
Thanks!

I'll be following this thread too. My problem is related, but slightly different. I like to make all the hyperlinks primary blue and underlined (old school). But the theme imposes itself as soon as it registers a hyperlink. On this project that's not working because the theme colour is too weak against white. Have you got any advice for me?

Rise now seems to use the theme color for hyperlinks.

  • Hi, I also have the problem that formatting from word documents is taken over in RISE blocks when copied. This prolongs the editing time, since each of the blocks need to be manually re-formatted. Kindly fix as soon as possible.

      Hi IrisSchlabitz!

Sorry to hear you've run into this setback!

Rise 360 retaining text formatting when copying/pasting content from other documents is a new feature we just released, and expected behavior. If you need to strip the text of its formatting, you can press CTRL + Shift + V when pasting.

Please let me know if you have any more questions!

Hi! I have a similar issue and wonder if there is a workaround. If I copy text into a Statement>Note, it retains the white background behind the text (it doesn't have the background color of the Note). This means that I have to re-type the text into the Note, which is doable until there is a fix. But I can't figure out how to reproduce a registered trademark symbol, which comes up fairly frequently. The only way I know of to create it is to copy the symbol from Word into the Note, but then it has a white box around it. Is there a workaround?

I only know on the Mac, but SHIFT + COMMAND + V pastes without the source formatting and allows the target formatting to apply. For me, the problem I was having with making hyperlinks primary blue is resolved; it now works and is not over-ridden by the theme. One thing that continues to be a bit of a nuisance is in tabs where the format of each tab cannot be changed.... but I believe that is already on the wishlist.

  • I have all the hyperlink text style colors (normal, hover, visited, etc) all set to magenta. I have white text boxes with links. Sometimes, but not always, the hyperlink turns white after mouse over, which means it's invisible on a white background.

But this only happens on certain slides. It's working fine on one slide, so I copy that text box to a different slide, and there that exact same text box has the link turning white.

Hi, replying on this thread becuase I think my problem is along the same vein... Is it still possible to have the text and underline of a link in two different colours?

Our theme colour is turquoise, but I set all my text to navy for readability. Until recently, whenever I added a link, it defaulted to the theme turquoise. I'd then set the text colour to navy, which would change the text colour, but the underline would remain in our theme colour.

This worked well for us, and I liked it.

However, I noticed last week that now, when I do the same thing, the colour of the text and underline are changed to navy. I can't get the text and underline to show in separate colours.

Is this due to an update or a bug? And is there a way to still achieve this? (see screenshots below)
