Feedback Master Does Not Work
Alyssa Gomez helped me with a problem with the master slide on this project, and the feeback master is an even bigger problem: I have spent many hours trying to format feedback masters, and although the masters look correct when I go into Feedback Master view (see attached Correct Feedback.png and the first slide in the attached .story file), new quiz slides are created with feedback layers that use the background from the regular master slides, and text boxes that make no sense at all (see attached Wrong Feedback.png). I then have to manually reformat every aspect of every feedback layer on dozens of quiz slides.
How can I get what appears in the feedback master slides to correctly appear in the layers of new quiz slides? Using Storyline 3.

Lida,
Are you indicating that there is a difference between Storyline 3 and Storyline 360 in the way that feedback layers are misbehaving?
Hi John,
Since Storyline 3 is behind Storyline 360 in terms of updates, you may see some differences with various features or bugs that don't exist in Storyline 3. Sadly, this issue in present in both versions. Once we have a fix in place for Storyline 360, we'll release an update for Storyline 3 after.
Hi there, Lida and John. We have this behavior reported for both Storyline 3 and 360.
I recently noticed that if you use the Feedback window in Form view, Storyline will pull in some of those default feedback layout objects, like the Correct text and the Continue button, even if you're using a custom layout that doesn't include them. I found a way around it which might be helpful for you:
1. Make sure you remove any unwanted elements from your feedback master layout (from the parent and the child layouts). You can add a text placeholder if you know you'll be giving textual feedback.
2. Remove any text from your layer in Form View. This will ensure that Storyline doesn't try to pull in the normal feedback elements (like "Correct" and the Continue button).
3. Create new layers titled, Correct and Incorrect. Choose your custom feedback layout with the text placeholder, and then enter the text appropriate for that slide's feedback.
We still have this issue open, but in the meantime, I'm sharing this workaround to help!

I have a similar situation where my custom slide layer for correct answers has disappeared on all my slides. I want to re-attach the custom slide layer to the correct feedback field in the form view. I have attached an example.
Hi, Anna!
Try removing the excamation point from the title of the Correct layer. Then, preview the slide again. The Correct layer should now appear when you choose the correct answer!

I am having similar issues when I try to apply my custom feedback layout where it isn't using all of my font settings. I've tried clearing font formats, but it doesn't make any difference. Here is a visual description:

Here is my .story file that lets you reproduce the issue above.
Hi there Will. So sorry you're running into this problem – I know it's frustrating!
I see my colleague, Crystal, recently let you know that we're looking into this bug in your other discussion. We'll keep you posted on our progress.
Hello, folks! A quick update:
Update 29 for Storyline 360 is live: In this update, we fixed the issue where formatted text on a feedback master would not always carry over to the slide layers.
Check out all the new fixes here, and here's how to update to the latest version!
While I don't have an update on the other reported issues related to the feedback master just yet, you're in the right place and we'll let you know as much as we can, as soon as we can!
As Katie mentioned, this issue was fixed in Storyline 360!
If you've experienced this issue in Storyline 3, we have good news!
We just released Update 7 for Storyline 3! (Build 3.7.20003.0) 🎉Text formatting on feedback masters didn't always carry over to layers in your course. This is one of the many fixes included in update 7!- BrendanLeyden-cCommunity Member
Has there been any progress on this? I JUST updated SL3 to the most recent build (downloaded 3/11/2022) and I still have mystery buttons showing up on my feedback layers when I do not have those buttons on my feedback master slides...
