How do I change the slide length in Storyline
Is there a way to change the slide length other than dragging the timeline?
Thanks,
Walt

Still haven't heard a solution to quickly reduce the end of slide once the end point has been established except for dragging bar. Anyway of changing end of slide via property?

Hey Guys,
Here is another option:
- Add object to slide
- Right click on it in timeline
- Change the start time to the slide length that you want.
-Or-
- Add object to slide
- Right click on it in timeline
- Uncheck the 'Show until end of slide' box
- Change the object duration
Not as simple as just dragging the timeline, but it works

Hey Walt,
Did you copy and paste items from other slides? When that is done, the items keep the timing when pasted.

Is there a way to turn off the timer for each layer.
I created several button / triggers the user must click to read the content. On the right side of the button is a character pointing to each button. When I click on each button the automatically reverts to the base layer..
Hi Manuel! I'm not sure that I'm following you? Are you saying that your buttons are not doing what you expect? Where is the timing issue? If you could further explain and perhaps share your .story file that would be fantastic

Go to slide properties, and set it to advance by user, rather than automatically.

Thanks! I actually figured that out right after I posted the question—and thought I had already done that. I didn’t realize it had to be done on each slide. I went into story view, and did the whole thing. Many thanks!

Hey, Walt! That's probably the easiest.
Or add a element, like a sound file that increases the timeline length.
Are you moving from slide to slide automatically or having folks click buttons.

I would like if I could right click on the slide and have a length of time field, but currently not a problem. Might be a good feature for down the road though.

Thanks, all (and hi Gerry), I mostly want to shorten the slides--on my last recording, some came in at over 100 seconds long (I don't know why--unless I was abducted by aliens for about a minute and a half), so it's kind of a hassle to drag the timeline.
For the course I'm working on, the slides advance automatically (regrettably).
