How to Disable Scrubbing (the ability to fast-forward a video)
We are testing the Rise360 application for developing e-learning courses but we have a problem. We need to disable scrubbing beyond what the user has viewed. In other words, we don't want the user to scrub or fast-forward to the end of the course. We want them to have to read/interact/complete all the pieces of the course before they can move on.
Is that possible in Rise360?
Thanks,
Kalie

Hi Kalie,
Yes, it's possible to turn off video scrubbing.
This needs to be done for each individual video block.
Click on the Format button for a video block.
At the bottom, turn off Allow Forward seeking.

Thank you!
Follow-Up Question: Is there a way to turn off scrubbing for the entire course (i.e. making the user have to do all the interactions, read every prompt, etc.)?
Hi Kalie!
Glad to see Karl has been helping you out!
I noticed that you've also opened a support case. Smart move! It looks like my colleague Matthew replied to your e-mail sharing feedback on your requests. If you have any follow-up questions for Matthew, feel free to reconnect with him through your case.
Have a great rest of your week!

Is it possible that a LMS will override this setting? Despite me verifying that I disabled forward seeking in all videos in a course, I can still skip through a video when accessing the course in my LMS.
Hi KristinaGaskins!
Sorry to hear you've run into this setback!
A helpful way to pinpoint LMS-specific behavior is by testing the course content with SCORM Cloud. If it works as expected in an LMS test environment, it's possible the issue is related to the LMS that's being used. However, if the same behavior can be observed in SCORM Cloud, please connect with our team through a support case.
They'd be happy to continue troubleshooting with you!

Strangely, this functionality is intermittent. There are some videos with the exact same setting that will not allow me to skip through the video. Is this a bug.
