Hyperlink in bulleted list: hover state not working

Hello. I've seen previous discussions of non-working hover states for hyperlinked text, one of which was apparently solved by a Storyline update a couple years ago. I've got a list of links at the bottom of a scrolling text field, and one of them stubbornly refuses to show its hover state--the second one in the list. The rest of the hyperlinks work fine.

I deleted the bullet and retyped the text, then applied the hyperlink but that didn't work. So I deleted the bullet and the one above it, retyped both, applied hyperlinks and the hover works on the first item but not the second.

The first bullet appears to have had its link cut in half. I don't understand how that happened, but I can live with it since both halves are linked to the same web page.

Is there a way to get at the code behind the scenes to see what's going on?

  • Hi AndyCowitt,

Thanks for reaching out and including your file!

I'm able to reproduce what you're describing with your .Story file, but not in a newly created sample file. I've opened a support case on your behalf so we can investigate what's going on! You'll hear from one of our Support Engineers via email soon.

Happy to help, AndyCowitt! I'm glad to see my teammate, Christian was able to resolve this with you.

If anyone is experiencing a similar issue, a good first step is to check for any hidden formatting. This can happen when copying and pasting between Storyline slides. If you suspect this may be the case,  you can try copying the text to a plain text editor, like Notepad, and then pasting it into Storyline. Another tip is to apply formatting and hyperlinks directly in Storyline.
