I can't get my audio to play
I have a base layer and a second layer where I recorded audio. When I'm in the audio layer, and I hit play, it plays. When I go to "preview," it doesn't play. When I hit play in the base layer, the audio doesn't play. I can't seem to copy/paste the audio layer into the base layer. I'm getting frustrated now. I recorded audio for 36 slides for this project. I do NOT want to have to re-record everything.
First thing I'd do since you've recorded a lot of audio and are worried you may lose it:
- Go into View>Media Library> Audio
- Select all of the audio tracks
- Select export
Now you'll have all of your audio saved.
Not seeing your file it's tough to troubleshoot, but if the audio is on a layer you'll need a trigger to show the layer. And you may need a play audio trigger depending on how the layer is setup.

I'm having the same problem with the audio on a Storyline project that previously worked. The audio does not play on either preview or Review 360. I noticed it stopped working after the last Storyline update.
Hi Andre,
Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue.
Since you mentioned that the audio stopped working after installing a recent update, can I ask if downgrading to an earlier version allows the audio to play again? And, are you accessing your course from a local directory when attempting to play the audio file?
If downgrading to an earlier version works, would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can take a closer look at what's happening? We'll delete it when we're done testing!
On the other hand, if downgrading doesn't work and this behavior affects multiple projects and audio files, try repairing your Storyline 360 installation to see if this fixes the issue.
