Issues with Publish to Video

I have a course that is a little over 6 mins long, but every time I publish to video the mp4 file is an hour and 47 minutes long. The content plays, then gets stuck on the final slide for the remaining time. I've tried changing a number of settings but keep having the same issue. I'm publishing locally, the slides advance automatically, the timelines for all slides fit the length of the content... Any ideas for other settings I should adjust, or will I need to just rebuild the course? The strangest part is that this is course #3 in a series. The first two courses published to video with no issues. I built #3 using the same file as #2 but just saved a copy and made edits. I can't figure out what's different about this one.

  • Hi, Allison!

Well, I had to read that twice to make sure I was reading that right! I don't think I have to tell you that's not supposed to happen. I would love to test out some possible options for you! Would you be willing to share your files here or reach out to our Support Engineers privately in a support case?

    Thanks for reaching out!

      Hi John,

Thanks for getting back to me. I was able to identify the problem - I had inserted a video clip from the Content Library on one of the slides. In the timeline it only appeared for a few seconds, but I tried deleting it and it fixed the publishing problem. Maybe the video itself was longer than it appeared in the timeline? Very strange!

Anyway, I just replaced it with a static image as a visual instead and was able to publish the correct timeframe. I've attached a screenshot of the video clip that seems to have caused the issue.

  • Hi, Allison!

I'm glad you were able to fix the issue!
