Jump to slide after draw from question bank
Hello elearning Heroes!
Here's a question about "drawing from a bank" that I couldn't find the answer to anywhere on the site.
So I have a slide which randomly draws 5 questions from a bank. I'm not using the player (so no next or submit buttons, everything is on the slide). Each question has a feedback with a working "continue" button. And yet, when I get to the fifth question... it won't continue to the next slide, it just stops. When I click the "continue" button it hides the feedback layer and that's it... no next slide.
What am I missing here? I can't use slide triggers because I'm not using the player and the "timeline ends" or "timeline starts" conditions don't work either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Stephane and Ashley,
Have you found a solution or workaround to this? We're having exactly the same issue.
Hi Kathleen,
I'll be happy to jump in!
Your 'Draw from question bank' slides were missing the triggers shown here which prevented the learners from navigating to the next slide/scene after completing the question draws:
If you need to restore the default settings for a question bank slide, you can just insert a new 'Draw from question bank' slide and delete the old one.
Hi Stephane,
What triggers have you added to allow the user to advance to the next slide? You could set a trigger to the continue button to hide the layer, and jump to the next slide which will either bring you to the next question slide or if you've drawn all the questions the next slide within the scene.

Hi Ashley,
Thanks for your reply. That's exactly what the continue button on the feedback layers does: it hides the feedback layer and then it goes on to the next slide. That's why I don't understand...
Hi Stephane,
I apologize, I'm a bit confused - I thought you said:

What behavior are you looking for? If you're able to share your .story file here with us it may help me have a better understanding of what you'd like to set up. If you'd prefer to share it privately, you can also share it here.- RebeccaFleischCCommunity Member
Hi Stephane and Ashley,
Just a thought, Stephane (because I've made this "slap myself in the head" error) are you showing ALL the slides? So are you displaying the 6th (or next) slide when you preview?

Hi Rebecca,
Thanks for your input, but yes I did a preview of the entire project (several times).
Hi Ashley,
Unfortunately I can't share the file, there is some sensitive information on it. I know it's not easy to understand that way so here is a screenshot of the part of the story view that I'm talking about.
It won't jump from 2.1 to 2.2 at the end of the quiz. And bear in mind that I'm not using the player (so no previous or next buttons, just the buttons that are on the slides). The trigger on the "draw" slide is "jump to the next line when the timeline starts". I tried when the timeline ends but it won't work either.
The "continue" button on each feedback layer is configured that way:
Am I missing something?

Sorry, the last picture didn't come through...
Hi Stephane,
Thanks for sharing the images here. It looks to be set up correctly, and I had set my test file last week up as you've described and wasn't able to replicate the behavior.
The only other thoughts are there may be something within the file itself, you may want to try importing it into a new Storyline file to see if there is some corruption within the file, additionally you may want to conduct a repair of your Storyline software .
If you're able to remove some of the sensitive content, our Support team can can review it privately and check to see if there is anything else to change within the triggers.
Hi Content Dev,
Stephane didn't submit a Support case, so I don't have any further information to share - when I tested it, I wasn't able to replicate the problem. Did you already try the suggestions I shared with Stephane to try importing it into a new Storyline file to see if there is some corruption within the file, additionally you may want to conduct a repair of your Storyline software . If neither of those work for you and you're able to share your .story file here with us we'll be happy to take a look? Also, you can share your .story file with us privately here.
