Korean Translation Issue - Help!

We have a training course in 15 languages, and one is Korean. It was discovered that when the training was uploaded into Workday (using the Scorm 2004, 4th edition) most of the training uploaded correctly; however, the question slides have a completely different character set for this language, making the words incomprehensible. Does anyone know how this can be corrected?

  • Hello Sheri. I'm sharing a similar experience from last year, and how I solved it (but don't ask me why because I don't know).
Same training course with 8 languages, including Korean. Same problem only with the question slides. The customer said “Characters are all broken”. The problem didn't appear in the SL file, where I had copied-pasted the Korean texts from an Excel file, but only in the preview and after the scorm export.  Anyway, after several tests, all I had to do was change the typeface (PlayFair Display) to bold to solve the problem, or change the typeface to Manrope (similar to PlayFair Display). May I suggest you try these 2 methods (bold or change typo). I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know if this was helpful.

I changed the font on those slides, and it worked! THANK YOU!!!!

  • Hello SheriMaines,

I'm glad to see you getting awesome advice from ThierryEMMANUEL

One other step you can do for your Korean course is to switch out the font in Rise 360 with a standard font like Arial or Lato. Sometimes it's the font that causes problems in a course! Testing in SCORM Cloud is also a good idea, as this will help isolate if the behavior is LMS-specific. Feel free to open a case with our support team here if you need additional help testing your course!
