magnifying an object not using the zoom region

There used to be several examples of how to zoom into an object on a slide - before the era of  'zoom region'  using layers and states. I can't seem to find them. Does anyone have them or know where or how to find them? The zoom region tool is not helpful for the action I need to happen. I need simple magnifications on various areas of my slide just using a hover state, but I've only seen it done and not done it myself. I think Tom K or David did some articles on these awhile back. ANY help most appreciated!

  • You could add transparent objects over areas of the slide. There are a few ways you could show the "zoom":

    • Insert the magnified image directly into the Hover state of the object.

    or

    • Add a trigger to the object that shows a layer on hover, and put the magnified image on the layer.
