Multiple Text Entry Quiz
Hi and Good day to everyone.
Can it be possible to create a multiple 'Text Entry' Quiz in storyline?
3-4 text entry that the user will answer to fill in the blanks?
Thanks and best regards,
Louise

I am hoping someone can help me! I am needing to have multiple text entries graded on one slide. I followed the video and it was awesome. However, for some reason, when I publish (test) the course I did the answers show in the text fields. I've attached my test - it is slide #2. Field one should be "Ions" and field two should be "Behaviors." not case sensitive.
I found a way to remove the answers from showing when publishes; however, then even when i type the correct answers it says incorrect.
Thank you for your help!

@Kandice - I'm happy to do what I can to help, but I can't open your file. I get the message that "The project id invalid or corrupt and cannot be opened. It may have been created in an earlier version of Storyline."
I'm not sure what's going on, but have you checked to make sure that the trigger is set to "ignore case?" This means that a learner can type title/proper case, all lowercase or all upper case and as long as the word is spelled correctly it will evaluate the answer as correct.
Please let me know if you repost your project file.
Hi Kandice,
I see the same message when trying to open your file. If it's working normally on your end, you'll want to confirm that you're working on local project files as described here and then I'd also look at importing it into a new .story file following the steps in this article.

Shoot i'm not sure why it didn't work last time loading. Let's try this one. I'm still confused at making it work. #4 is the question i need help with making work in this course.
Also, as a simpler route and to know a second option of doing this, what is the correct way to add a slide that is graded with more than one text entry question? I am find if it is all or nothing in grading of that slide. I just want to know the right way to do it. :)
Thank you for you help!

So one thing i may have done wrong is change the submit button of the pick one to a prev and next button option (rather than submit). Do you have to do submit on the pick one slides?
Because i noticed if i do a prev/next button option it marks it incorrect no matter what.

I need to use a result page for scoring with multiple text entry in one question. Can I do this? Or if i create custom interactivity then can I pass the score to result page without converting it to Free Form?
Hi Deepak,
Since the multiple text entry is a custom question set up, it won't be included as a part of the results/scoring - so you'd need to set up another question to track the value of that question. Since multiple choice questions allow you to score by answer, you could set it up to "select" the answer that matches the score the user is to receive based on the text entry. You could either move all the items off screen and add additional information there for the user to see - or set it up as a "jump to slide next slide " when timeline starts - and just ensure that trigger appears after the one to set the state of the question.

I too would like to have a 2 text entry on one slide quiz in Storyline 2. I have followed how to set up the correct/incorrect buttons, however I am struggling with how to indicate what the correct text should be for the 2 text entry boxes.... can someone point me in the right direction please
Hi Patricia!
Did you check out the Screenr that Jeanette shared on the first page of replies? It walks you through how to set this up.

Hi Leslie
I did follow it... and managed to set up the correct/incorrect buttons so no issue there ... however the Screenr didnt go into enough detail (for me) on how to set up the text fields triggers/states ... ie how to set it up so that it looks at all the text entry fields and sets the states accordingly (Iam fairly new to Storyline so I am still getting my head around the variables/values and conditions functions!)

Hi Patricia
do you want to upload your story file - easier for someone to help you if we can see your setup. Just click the Add attachment button in the post and upload your Storyline file.
Hi Marcus!
Jeanette doesn't make it back to the forums as often, but it looks like you were getting a lot of assistance in the thread you referenced. Would you be able to share a sample .story file so that you could get further assistance?

Hi Leslie
I was if you think its best to post the question there I will do. But here is a file anyway.
The page itself isn't finished but the triggering and variables are at a point where i don't see why they wouldn't work.
You watch it'll be something daft.

Hi Marcus
I'd definitely echo what Leslie is saying that all the text entry boxes that you are trying to evaluate should be on the base layer where your correct/incorrect buttons are being triggered.
Also in the 'incorrect' trigger, the condition should be OR not AND as any one of those entries that is not right gives an incorrect answer.
I've moved the contents of the text entry and screenshot layers to the base layer - haven't done instructions yet. I also updated the incorrect trigger.
I'm not a fan of hotspots so I created a transparent rectangle that I am using as the 'click' to submit...but you can try changing back to hotspot if you like - I hid the hotspot on the timeline by clicking the eye icon (show hide) next to it. I also moved it to appear after the zoom out finishes.
It appears to be working as I would expect - but that's your call if it is ;-) when I get the answers correct it takes me to the next slide
