Old Text to speech not recognizing commas and full stops since AI assistant roll out

Since the roll out of the new AI assistant feature (trial) I have noticed that the old text to speech is no longer recognizing commas and full stops, used to put a pause in the speech (like the one I have just used between "stops" and "used") ... anyone else noticed this?.. it is really annoying

how do I get around this? - I have projects where I have already started using the text to speech so I don't want to go through it all and change it to the new AI version

Also when using the new AI text to speech.. if you need to alter the text, you have to paste it all in again  - it doesn't save it in the "Inset Text to Speech box" as with the old Text to speech enabling you to just change the text that needs changing - am I doing something wrong here... or has this functionality been removed with the AI version??..... again extremely annoying!

  • Hi PatriciadeSouza!

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with AI-assisted text-to-speech in Storyline!

Articulate AI has been added as a new feature. However, updating previous TTS to an AI version is not required. The legacy TTS tool is still accessible if you'd prefer to use it and can be found under Audio on the Insert tab.

Also, if you'd still like to explore Storyline AI and control pacing, you can add a pause. The most consistent way to do that is by inserting the syntax <break time="1.5s" /> into your script.

Please let me know if you have any more questions!
