Parallels 16.5 and Articulate 360
Hi everyone, I had a question for anyone who currently has an M1 Apple computer. Have you been able to get Articulate 360, and specifically Storyline running using the Windows 10 ARM release?
I use Storyline through my workplace but will be going back to school this fall to get my Master's and need to pick up a new laptop. I'd like to pick up one of the new M1 Macs, as in my personal life, I'm a Mac guy. For the Master's program, the instructors teach with Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate.
While I've used Articulate products for many years, I'm seriously considering switching to Captivate for my personal use/learning. Searching through numerous threads here, it seems like Mac users have to jump through hoops to get Articulate Storyline to work on their computers.
What are your recommendations/feedback? Thanks!
Hello Omar and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊
I cannot speak to if anyone has gotten this set-up to work, but I did want to make sure you were aware of our documentation.
You will need a Windows environment to run Storyline 360, which is a limitation of the M1 chip Mac at this time:

Thanks, Leslie! I guess the next question would be is Articulate compatible with the Windows 10 ARM version?
Not at this time, Omar. We support Windows 10 (32-bit or 64-bit).

Thank you for the response. This definitely makes me consider my direction, but I appreciate the transparency.

Hey Omar,
Before jumping ship to Captivate you might want to check if it will run on M1 Macs. I checked today, and it doesn’t.

Thanks, Barry. So more recently, it looks like Articulate will run on Parallels (unsanctioned) based on this thread: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/using-storyline-360-with-arm-version-of-windows-10
Looks like there might be some workarounds, but that user got it to work.
Also, Captivate does seem to work as well running Rosetta: https://community.adobe.com/t5/captivate/adobe-captivate-on-a-silicon-m1-mac-using-rosetta/td-p/11967593
Of course, both solutions are not approved by the developers and are "workarounds" but at least I know that there are options for my M1 mac.
