Question Banks - How to set default duration?

Imported questions automatically create slides with a duration of 5 sec. I cannot find a way to change it. We need to allow 60 secs per question.

Currently, it requires that we increase the time on each slide individually by dragging the timeline to 60sec.

Is there a way to set the duration of a question at the time of import, or set a default for all slides?

Please advise . . .

      Hello,

This does not help. What you are showing me is a default time set for all slides that don't have any timed elements, such as audio, video, or animations. Here is an example of want I want when using Presenter 360:

      Slide 1- 10 Second duration

      Slide 2- 15 second duration

Slide 3- 35 minute duration, etc.

Thanks for the clarification. There isn't a way to set the duration of each slide individually in Presenter 360, but this can easily be done in Storyline 360. The good news is that it is very easy to import PowerPoint slides into a Storline 360 project. Here's how:

If you prefer to keep your work in Presenter 360, you can raise a feature request to our product team and share your thoughts with them there.

  • Hello Gerald!

You can change the length of the timeline to 60 seconds instead of the default 5-second timeline. Just drag the end of the timeline to the right to increase the duration of the slide.

  • Ms. Lauren,

You are correct, as I stated above in my question. That is the problem I'm trying to find a resolution for. If we have a 50 question import. We have to drag the timeline to 60 on all 50 slides. Very time consuming and not very efficient.

Why can't we either have an option to change the default question duration in settings somewhere, or change the default duration at the time of import, or even an option on the menu for slide duration?

  • Hi, Gerald.

Thank you for clarifying how this feature would be beneficial to you!

While this is not currently something you can do in Storyline, you are welcome to share your thoughts through this feature request form, and if it makes it into our feature roadmap, we'll make sure to update you!

Following - have also just put a request in for this feature as it is extremely time consuming when the bulk of my courses are imported from PowerPoint.

  • Is it possible on Presenter 360 to implement different  slide duration for slides that don't have any timed elements, such as audio, video, or animations.

I know I  can change the default for all of my slides, but I would like different times for each.

  • Hi Richardo!

Good news!! You can change the time duration by entering the new time in the provided field! Here is an article for you about that!

    Thanks for reaching out!

Can you please send me a screenshot of what I should be looking at?

Again, I want to set a particular slide duration time for certain slides that don't have any timed elements, such as audio, video or animations. I do not want the same duration time for all my slides.

  • Hi Gerald!

Thanks for reaching out. Currently, there isn't the option to change the default timeline length for all slides. We do have a feature request logged for this, so it's still on our radar. I have linked you to the feature request, and we will be sure to update you with any news should this make it onto our feature roadmap.

  • Again, I am back to setting the question slide duration from the stupid 5 sec time, to 60 seconds and having to do it one slide at a time. Frustrating for a 2 hour course with 40+ question slides.

Please put this on your To-Do list ASAP, add an option to set the default question bank slide time, or simply allow the change to be applied to ALL slides at once.
