Quiz results page not showing

Hi everybody,

I've created a quiz with multiple choice questions.  When I click continue on the last question before the results page, everything crashes, and I have to close the browser window.  I've tried just isolating the slides away from the rest of the storyline file, but it still does it.  This is for an 100% asynch course that our SMEs have said they want to be sure learners are looking at each page, so originally it was set to restricted.  I copied the quiz slides to another file, and tried setting the player to free (no restrictions). I have the same problem.  It crashes after the last question has been answered.

I've attached the .story file.

Thanks in advance for your time and help!

Barb

  • Try renaming "Quiz1" to "Quiz." This will automatically update the quiz variables to "Quiz.ScorePoints," "Quiz.PassPoints," and so on. Be sure to reference these newly generated variables on the Results slide to ensure everything works correctly. I've attached the fixed version for you.

  • I'll add some additional info to Nedim 's solution.

When you insert a new Results slide, Storyline automatically creates the built-in variables needed for scoring.

If you import, copy-and-paste, or duplicate a Results slide, that breaks the scoring functionality, and the Results slide can't load. The community has multiple discussions about this.

As Nedim pointed out, sometimes renaming the quiz and then verifying the trigger variables will fix the issue.

The other solution is to avoid importing, copying-and-pasting, or duplicating a Results slide. Instead, insert a new one whenever needed. If you want it to look a certain way, use custom Slide and Feedback Master Layouts.

  • Checked my raw storyline files, results screen does not display scores and just stops at the loading stage.
