Setting Continue Condition for Storyline Question Embedded in Rise 360

Hello,

My colleague and I are building a course that integrates some storyline components into a rise 360 course.

We built a couple of quiz questions in Storyline that weren't available in Rise, and we've placed them into Rise as interactive Storyline block.

We want to set it up so they can't continue in Rise until they've gotten the question correct in the Storyline block, but the Rise course allows you to continue whether you get the question right or wrong.

Is there a way to make it so Rise allowing you to continue is contingent on getting the question correct in the Storyline block?

Thanks for any insight!

  • Do this in the Storyline file:

    • On the Success layer of the Results slide, add a "Complete course when timeline of this layer starts" trigger.
    • Publish the project to Review 360 using only the "Complete course" trigger for tracking.

When you insert that into Rise, the Rise Continue button won't be enabled until the trigger runs on the Success layer. So the user will have to pass the test to proceed.

  • Nothing I have tried has worked. My SL block is interactive without a quiz. I even added one according to the completion trigger recommendation, like the one described here and in the article on ELH. HELP me please...anyone?

      Hi DonaldMaiorino!

Sorry to hear you've run into this setback!

Testing this on my end, the process Judy shared worked as expected. My Continue Block button only became active after completing a Storyline 360 interaction. I've attached a copy of the sample .story file I used, for your reference.

When publishing from Storyline to Review 360, can you confirm you're only using the 'Complete Course' Trigger, for tracking? Also, it would be helpful to see the .story file you've been working with. Do you mind uploading a copy here in the discussion, or privately through a support case?

We'll delete it from our system as soon as we've finished troubleshooting!

  • Thank you. Yes, I'm only using the 'Complete Course' trigger. I'll share via support case 🙂
