slide or layer
Hello
I am new to storyline, and I was wondering in which situation you would prefer to use a new slide, and it what situation you would prefer to use a layer to an existing slide.

In general, I use a layer if I want to show something (like an error message), then return to the base layer, or if I want to add object(s) to the base layer on a temporary basis. I also use layers to hold triggers. This would happen if I have a bunch of triggers that do the same thing, but are attached to different objects (like a subroutine, if you have a programming background.)
The rest of the time, I use new slides. Slides are free, and in general, the fewer objects on a slide, the better the design
