Storyline 360 - Pause Timeline trigger on base layer and other layers not working
Thanks Ron - appreciate the time you put towards this. The sad news is that I have so many modules with this type of programming. I will fix this one now as it is about to launch. Should I open a support case?
I did open a support ticket - will advise if anything changes.

Hello Cindy,
Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention, and I'm glad Ron is assisting you here. I replied to you via email in the support case. We have filed a bug report, and our product team is aware of the problem. I have shared workarounds with you in the support case, but I'm pasting it here so that others with the same issue will be aware. Two of them have been recommended by Ron as well:
- Downgrade to version April 30, 2024 (Build 3.87.32265.0)
- Delay the video so it doesn't appear at the start of the timeline
- Add an extra trigger to pause the video.
We'll let you know if there are any changes that might help. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the workarounds or the issue you reported, feel free to let us know. We'd be happy to help!

Hi Eric,
Our business currently has Build 3.88. We don't have permissions to downgrade to an earlier version, and we only get upgrades every quarter.
I'm experiencing a similar issue to what these individuals have described. In my storyline modules in review mode, the text-to-speech audio continues playing when you switch browser tabs. As a result, it causes a delay in the animated content; therefore, the audio and content do not synch properly.
You mention that you have shared workarounds Cindy's support case. Are you able to share those here? I think that by adding some triggers (for example, pause timeline when learner loses focus) might work, but I'm not as proficient here and have not been able to figure out.
Thanks,
-Landon
