Storyline 360/Storyline 3 - Bookmarking on LMS
Hi Guys,
I am using the current version of Storyline 360 to create a training for one of my major clients (Restaurant Chain). Of course the current bug is that html 5 is messing up in IE 11 browsers... Since they needed to go live with the course next week and there is no fix for the HTML 5 issue, I had to download the Storyline 3 demo and open and publish from that demo to "fix" the html 5 problem. But another issue that was there on the 360 and now Storyline 3 publish is that the course is not "bookmarking" in their Oracle LMS. *Meaning they start the course, exit and when they return they have to start over.
Maybe I made a mistake somehow, or maybe it something with the program... but anyone else having these issues? I used Storyline 2 forever with them, and it always worked. Advice?? (thanks in advance for your comments and help!) :)
Hi Darlene,
I found your case with Renato and it looks like you're also using AICC, and that may be why the bookmarking isn't working as expected. It's possible you're running into the suspend data issue and I see that Renato asked you to pull some LMS debug logs. Were you able to go through those steps?

Has there been any resolution to this thread? I am using Storyline 360 (3.32.20313.0), IE (11.1392.16299.0), and SAP/Success Factors. There are inconsistent reports from users complaining about various courses not saving their place. The "prompt to resume" player setting is selected. Thanks :)

Also we are exported directly to HTML5 - personally I think it is a browser based lack of support HTML5 issue that is the issue, but I might be making that up. To add additional oddities to the situation drag/drop questions seem to be problematic again (i.e. slide not resetting, drag items jumping across page, course getting stuck on drag/drop questions, etc.).

Yikes I apologize more info is obviously necessary. We publish to SCORM 2004 4th edition and HTML only (no flash back up). Plus the problems persist for some after the trusty "clear your cache/cookies" troubleshooting is complete.

Hi Rachel,
Thank you for providing those details!
Have you had a chance to test the course behavior in a testing LMS environment like SCORM Cloud? If not, I am more than happy to help!
With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or you are always welcome to connect with our Support Engineers privately here. We'll share our findings and delete it when finished troubleshooting.

sorry I should have mentioned that it Passed SCORM cloud twice. Some users have no problem. The machine I use is dropping the book mark. I am on Win 10 and my IE 11 16299 is showing doctype 11 and compatibility list is OFF. I will upload the file on Monday and would love for someone to look under the hood. Thanks!

Hi Vincent,
The file was submitted via the private link. Could you let me know what you think?
Thanks for any advice or feedback you might be able to provide!

Hi Vincent,
It has passed SCORM cloud - also all the other basics are covered (i.e. working from a local source file, etc.), I submitted it to the Articulate Support Team, but they could not reproduce the problem. This is also what we have seen in our company. Only some people have an issue, but others experience no issue at all. We just recently republished the file and again two users reported bookmarking is not working. Any news on this front?
Thanks :)

Hi Rachel,
Thank you for letting us know!
A couple of questions for you on this:
- To clarify, it sounds like the course is working as intended and resuming properly when it is uploaded to SCORM Cloud?
- Do you happen to know which web browsers your learners are using that are reporting the issue?
If your content works properly at SCORM Cloud but not in your LMS, it might be worth connecting with your LMS provider to help troubleshoot the issue as well. They'll know how to best help with any LMS specific issues.
Please keep us posted and let us know if you have any questions!

I am using the same version of Storyline 360 that Rachel is using. My project also will not bookmark correctly.
I have tried several combinations of slide properties. I also published with SCORM 1.2 which did bookmark but not correctly. I read on the forum to use SCORM 2004 - 4th edition because of the size of the project.
The current project settings are:
Browser settings: Resume on start set to "Prompt to resume".
Slide Properties: When revisiting set to " Resume saved state".
Published for LMS using SCORM 2004 - 4th Edition.
This is a 45 minute course that must bookmark the location in the course for the learner. Currently if they leave and come back, the course starts at the very beginning again.
HELP! I need to get this course loaded into the LMS with proper bookmarking ASAP . It's a required course that all employees will need to complete by the end of November.

Hi Ren,
I appear to be running into a similar issue, i.e. I have a long course, published in SCORM 2004, bookmarking is not working (via test on SCORMCloud), and it is set to "always resume" on restart. I was wondering if you all had uncovered any potential fixes I might try from Cindy's case or otherwise. Please let me know. I will also be happy to submit the sl file if appropriate/helpful.
Thanks,
Bill
