Straight Lines
Hello,
I find it extremely hard to create straight lines/arrows is there an easier way to do this?
i.e. holding shift like other programs does not work.
Thanks!
Hey Janet!
Sorry to hear you wrestled with this for an hour! I'm curious, do you see the pink smart guides when you move the line on your slide? Here's a quick video to show you how those guides should work.

No, the pink guidelines did not show up. They do for inserting media
though. I was using the grid to align, but the placement was overshooting
the mark. Part of that hours was looking for a workaround that allowed me
to adjust the pixel location of the first and last points of the line in
the freeform line option.
Hmm, that's really odd, Janet!
Would you mind sending me a Peek video similar to the one I shared? I'd like to see your Grids & Guides settings, as well as how the line behaves on your slide.
Hello Carmen and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
Thanks for reaching out and letting us know that you are running into an issue as well.
I can no longer see JC's video example, but I'm curious if you were able to take a look at Alyssa's response here?
Would you be able to record us a quick Peek 360 video of what you are seeing?

Having the same problem using the freeform tool. I see this is a five-year thread and that a feature request was made around a year ago.
It seems to me that adding this functionality to the freeform tool would be reasonably simple, since most of the code is already written for the regular line tool.
Are we missing part of the process, missing a feature request or something? It would seem that it would take much less than this time period to resolve such a simple issue.
Anyone currently have workarounds that work to draw 0, 45, and 90 degree lines without the shift key lock?
Hi Joseph!
Thank you for checking back on this feature request! Fortunately, we do share our feature request process publicly. As you can see, we are intentional about every addition that we make to our programs. We also promise to share when we hear the good news!
If we hear of any updates, we'll report back to this discussion.

Hi, i have a question. If i draw two straight lines forming a 90 degree angle and i want to make the angle round, i can't achieve this in Storyliune. This is such a simple procedure but it is impossible to do in StoryLine.
How do you draw two lines, connect them in 90 degrees and then make the corner round? Hello Gilly!
It does seem quite difficult to create a 90-degree angle with a rounded corner. Although it could be tedious, grouping shapes could create a curved 90-degree angle. It seems like the curve is where the difficulty is! Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

After 7 years of evaluation, is there any chance of creating an straight line in SL 360? You people are a joke

@Rafael - One trick that often works for me is to hold down the ALT key while stretching the line I am drawing. Most of the time it works. In the few cases where a person on a galloping horse is likely to see it, I will verify that it's straight by dropping in a rectangle object as more or less a sanity check.
All that to say yes, the absence of a verified "shift/click/CTRL/ALT" key toggle is a frustration. Tools, like their designers, are not infinite and do have limitations. This appears to be one of them within SL.

Thanks, Rafael. Glad to be able to bring some levity to what must be a very difficult life.

Hi Walt, thanks for your comment, it triggered some self-analysis in me, I realized that I was very rude in my first comments in this forum, just to found later on the most generous and open community I have ever seen in the web, my apologies to all of you.
