Strange extra space in Rise menu
I had something strange happening to a Rise course yesterday. Somehow, all of a sudden the menu items start with a blank line.
I've tried changing the theme, font, different types of menu, shortening the menu items... nothing works.
My other Rise courses just use 2 lines when an item is too long, but here ever item starts with a blank line??
Anyone a clue what's going on?

If you are using the Apex theme, the navigation has a lot of extra spaces, it looks like a UI bug compared to the other themes. If you have more than a few sections and lessons it becomes very tall. I created a 'slim' version that is wider (to avoid text wrap) and collapses the sections by default, but expands the active section automatically, and it has a more obvious indicator showing the user which section and lesson they are viewing.
Hi Bram,
Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue.
Can I ask if the behavior is present in both edit mode and when you preview or publish your course? Do you still see the issue if you open your course in another browser?
Based on the screenshot that you shared, there's a possibility that the font used by your course might be causing the behavior you're experiencing. I understand that you've already tried switching fonts, but as a troubleshooting step, try switching the font used by your course to a standard font like Arial or Lato to see if using default fonts fixes the issue.
If the issue persists, please open a case with our support team here so we can take a closer look at your course!
Hi,
I just wanted to ask if this has been resolved. I am also encountering the same issue. I have already tried to change fonts (was originally using Lato already) but that didn't help. This behaviour is present when I preview the course. There is no sidebar while I am still editing. The sidebar can only be seen once I preview what I have done so far.
Thank you.
Hi RobinsonRyan,
Happy to help!
Could you please share what browser you are using? I'm curious if switching browsers gives you a different experience. For your reference, these are the browsers that we support when authoring in Rise 360.
Does this issue happen with every course you are working with or just one specific course?
If you change the size of your browser window, do you notice a change in the spacing?
We'd be happy to take a closer look at your setup in this thread or privately in a support case.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
