I have read some previous discussions on this topic. Is there a new way/updated discussion on how to open a url in a new window. My links currently open in the same window and I can't navigate back to the course.

Thanks for reaching out! I can confirm that Rise hyperlinks open in a new tab unless the user right-clicks and chooses to open them in a new window.
Are you finding that the hyperlinks open in the same window but in a new tab, or do they load in the same tab? Also, are you viewing the published output in an LMS? If so, do you see the same behavior in another LMS? You can use SCORM Cloud to test.
Some LMSs can dictate whether links open in a new window. If that's the case, I'd reach out to the LMS administrator. They may be able to tweak some settings to achieve what you need.
