Video Captions

Hello,

I am working on a course in Articulate Storyline that includes a video. I have imported a .VTT caption file and turned on the video player "CC" button, so a user can select to display these captions. The video is not the full size of the slide and I noticed in playback that the captions show up below the video, at the bottom of the slide (outside the video player itself). Is there any way to move the captions/adjust the position of the captions?

Thank you,

Laura

  • Hi Laura,

Thanks for reaching out! I appreciate you taking the time to share what you’d like to see in Storyline 360 regarding the closed captions placement and to be able to change the position as needed.

We currently have this logged as a feature request, so I’ll go ahead and include your voice. We’ll update this discussion if this feature makes it on our feature roadmap.

    I appreciate your patience!

  • Hi Laura,

I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 86, we’ve included important fixes and new features.

One of the new features we’ve included:

    • Position captions at the top or bottom of the slide to ensure closed caption visibility and prevent the obstruction of critical course content.

Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You’ll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

  • Also, sometimes there are problems with video placement here, and it would be good to adjust the size somehow.

      Hello Anthony,

Happy to look into this for you!

Would you mind sharing more details regarding the problems that you're experiencing with placing captions on videos so we can take a closer look? You can share screenshots if possible so we'll know exactly what placement issues you're seeing.

As for increasing the font size, you can check out this article for more information on how to make this change.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
