XLIFF translated file won't import

I've tried uploading several different xliff files and the file gets to 100% uploaded then when I click labels it closes and goes back to the dashboard and it hasn't translated. I have only just taken on this project so am wondering if there was an issue in the way the course copy was created that might be causing this or if I need to go back to the translations team to ask them to investigate the xliff file.
