Copying a course (template) and losing the specified settings

Sep 28, 2020

Hi there,

Our team has designed a course in Rise 360, which is used as a template for all of the designers for standardization purposes. This course template has been shared with each designer, however, when copying this the settings are lost/reset/not pulled across. This defeats the purpose of having a course template.

Can you please advise on how to correct this, or provide the correct manner of doing such a task?

Many thanks,
Samantha

Hi Karl,

Thanks for reaching out. It is only the Settings that revert:

The naming conventions we had set up in the Labels section reverts back to default.

The Export settings change in that we have to change this back to the Complete/Incomplete Reporting setting, and enable the Exit Course toggle again.

Under the Theme section, the Show in sidebar setting for the main image is enabled where it is disabled in the template. The Show Author option is also enabled where it is disabled in the template.

Do we need to manually change these each time the template is copied?

Please advise.

Thanks,
Samantha

Hi Samantha,

Thanks so much for sharing insight into how your team is using the Send a Copy feature. The settings you listed will revert when you send a copy of a course to another author:

  • The copy will adopt the recipient's default English text labels.
  • The export settings revert to default settings.
  • The sidebar image and author settings revert to default settings.

I'll let our team know you'd like the option to retain those labels and settings when you send a copy to another author. We really appreciate your feedback!
