Downloading Rise course for offline use

Feb 08, 2022

Is it possible for a course created in Rise to be available for downloading for offline access? Some of the learners for this course have slow internet connections, and may want the course to be available in an offline format. Is this possible in Rise?

Hi Josh,

If the students have  slow internet connections, there is probably not a solution. So the following is probably not feasible.

Theoretically it's possible to take a Rise course offline, but it's not simple.

You would have to export the course as a ZIP file and get students to download the file, and provide instructions to unzip the file and use it on their local computer. If they are using mobile devices, they may not be able to do this.

Note that taking a course in this manner will not record any student data or results.

Yes!

  1. Publish your project for "Web".
  2. Rise will create a zip folder of your content. Extract the content.
  3. Navigate to the content folder. You should see your index file here along with any other folders and files needed to run the course.
  4. Copy these files to a jump drive or an SD card and send it.
