Problem using a no-break space in Rise 360

Hi all,
Problem using a no-break space in Rise 360
Protected spaces are used whenever two words, characters or symbols should remain close together.
z. e.g. 5 kWh, 100 km

Set a protected space

in Word with Ctrl + Shift + Spacebar
in macOS with Alt + Space
in any program with Alt + 0160 (enter in the numeric keypad)

But it does not work in Rise 360

Any help appreciated!

  • Hi there, Jack. We're seeing that non-breaking spaces using Alt+0160 aren't working as they did before. We documented this problem, and we'll update you if anything changes. I'm so sorry this is affecting your work!

  • Hello Alyssa,
protected space, this is especially important, otherwise the course will look terrible. Hope this gap will be closed soon.

  • Hi there, we ran into the same problem yesterday. Are there any news on this? Would be great to have a solution soon. What surprises me: Alt + 0173 still works ...

  • No updates at this time, Silke. Thanks for sharing a keyboard shortcut that is still working for you!

Hi Alyssa. Any progress on the no-break space please? I tried this yesterday and it didn't work.

Do we have an update? This is really important for courses in French. This is basic text editing and I am completely miffed that it hasn't been addressed for over 5 years.

  • Hi there, I really need this to work as well as we deliver courses in French. Somehow, miraculously, I got Alt+1060 to work once, but subsequent times just produce a dollar sign. Alt+0173 gives me a dash. Any other work arounds you can suggest?

Hiya, i just figured out a work-around. use another letter or character in between your words, like here i've used an apostrophe: 5'km
then change the colour of the apostrophe to white to make it invisible. It should hold your words together like a non-breaking space :-)
