Rise tabs interactive not accessible

Hi there, is there a way to make the tabs interactive? My clients advises that only the title of each tab is read with a screen reader but not the content.

  • Hello, Stephanie!

Our team is hard at work on screen reader support as we speak, but it isn't fully ready yet. If you use a screen reader on a Rise 360 course now, you may find that it doesn't perform well.

We'll let you know when you can use a screen reader with Rise 360. In the meantime, we put together a journal where you can find all the details on the features we’ve enhanced in Rise 360 as we work towards WCAG 2.1 compliance. And we’ll keep this journal updated as we continue our accessibility journey.

  • Hi Stephanie!

While our content is not fully and officially A11y compliant, screen readers should be able to navigate to the content of the tab interaction. Depending on how you utilize the screen reader navigation, normally if you read per line, it will go through all the tab titles first, and then to the content section of the active tab. What was your experience and with what screen reader + browser?

    Hi,

I find the tab activity in rise is still not accessible. JAWS not reading the content of the tab.

Let me know if there is a workaround for this issue

    Thanks

  • Hi Surya!

The latest version of JAWS should read the text within your interactive tabs block. Would you be able to create a screen recording of what you're experiencing while using JAWS with that block so we can get a better idea of what's going on? That would be really helpful!
