Using HTML code in Rise Titles
Jul 23, 2018
I am writing a Rise course on using HTML. When I include an HTML element in the page title, the published course sees it as HTML and it disappears due to the < character. However, in the sidebar, the title displays correctly. For example <i> vs. <em> vs. <strong> shows up in the title as vs. vs.
If I use a special character in the title < (instead of the < character) then it displays okay in the title but the < shows up in the sidebar subtitles.
See the attached screenshots to see examples of this.
Is it possible to have the titles in Rise be parsed the same way they are when displaying the subTitles in the sidebar? Or, is there a workaround that I can use?
Thanks!

Hi Peter,
Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention. We're seeing the same thing, and that definitely doesn't seem right. The lesson title should match the title shown in the sidebar menu.
I'm going to bring this to my team to see how we can help. As soon as I know more, I'll post an update here!
Any luck here? I want to use code to modify the title too. :)
Hi Sonya! I'd love to hear more about what you're looking to do. Are you hoping to modify the course title or a lesson title? How do you want to modify it?
