have been playing around with creating a course on Rise. I want to import a narrated powerpoint (to bulk this course up with the necessary info) but it isn't letting me. I'm thinking that this isn't yet supported? Is this correct and do you have any other options on Rise that I could consider (I don't really want to re-narrate the whole presentation if possible). Am I better off using Storyline for this?
Hi Trish - you're right. There's not a current way to import a narrated powerpoint into Rise.
Your best bet right now is to re-narrate it as a video. You can use Replay or Peek to do this. Or you can save your PowerPoint file as PDF and narrate it in Preso if you have an iPad.
We are working on an Attachments block for Rise so that you could include additional resources such as a PDF or Word documents, so that's how you'd be able to ultimately add in your Powerpoint files using the PDF option. That new feature is slated to be release in Q1 of '17 - so stay tuned as that's soon!
We're close Paul - just not an official date set. I promise to update you here once we've got that released - and you'll see it right away in Rise as well!
I found the block to add an attachment but wondered does Rise have the capability to import content directly from PowerPoint or Word without copying and pasting.
Great question, and I have seen this asked before. While there is not a direct import option, there is the attachments as you mention and Adam shares an idea here as well.
You are welcome to share your thoughts here on why you'd like to see this and how you'd use it so that we can better understand.
Hi Leslie, the reason why we are asking for a PPT import feature in Rise is the same reason as to why a PPT import feature exists/was built in Storyline (ease of use) and the ability to quickly convert PPT content directly into a Rise project. Is that additional capability/effort being considered as a future Rise enhancement?
Converting slides to .jpg is an option that I have used in the past with some Rise projects and it works fine for less than 10 slides and slides that have no animation or video but is not conducive to larger PPT decks or when there is multimedia included.
Hi Allison, I have received several narrated PowerPoint files that I would like to insert into my Rise course. Could you please let em know what my options are? I have not found a way to make this work. Does it need to perhaps be imported into Story line first? Thank you for letting me know. Ideally I would not have to ask to supply new content as it is quite long.

Adam: Can I import a PowerPoint without narration into Rise? Or can I save a PowerPoint file as a PDF and import it into Rise?
Thanks for your help

Hey, Ashley!
I know it's only been a month since this post (and still in Q1), but I was wondering how close we are to this feature being implemented.
Thank you!

Hi John,
Thank you for sharing this feedback. Would you be open to logging a feature request to tell us more?
If we add this to our new feature roadmap in the future, we'll definitely let you know.

You got it right, Julia!
You can embed a narrated PowerPoint file in Rise 360 using Storyline 360. Here's how:
Give it a try, and let me know if you'd like some help along the way!
That worked Alyssa. Thank you!
Good grief that is a lot of steps - is there any way to more quickly do this without using three different programs to accomplish it?
Hi Deb, there isn't a direct way to import your PowerPoint slides into Rise, but here are some options that you can try:
I hope this helps!
