Inserting placeholder text (i.e. lorem ipsum...)

Feb 06, 2017

Having trouble inserting placeholder text in Rise using the =lorem() command... anyone else found this?  Is there a fix?

Hi Brenda,

Great question - I hadn't played with using lorem ipsum text within Rise yet, so I checked to make sure I saw the same thing. We didn't build the text generator into Rise (as we did for Storyline and as it's built into Powerpoint which Studio is based in) so it'd have to a feature request at this point. I'm happy to pass it along to our Product team and it would be helpful to know a bit more about how you'd like to use it within Rise. Feel free to share that here or pop those thoughts into our Feature request form!

Hi Ashley;

Thanks - looking forward to using that feature!

I am designing a course with technical information and pictures and need to have text in place to make sure the formatting works.  I don't always have all the content available when I begin designing, and sometimes, when I am asking for content, it makes it easier for SMEs to visualize what they need to give me - and how succinct they need to be....  ;-)

Makes perfect sense Brenda - in the meantime you can copy/paste text into Rise so you could use the lorem ipsum text in a Storyline/Studio file or look at generating some online and we shared a few in this older article:

Those would really jazz it up for your SMEs. ;)
