It could potentially be that your filepath is too long.
My workplace resolved a problem with audio not playing in the published file by moving the project from the network to the desktop and publishing from there.
I had the same problem with viewing videos locally on my Mac. The problem turned out to be the security settings on Adobe Flash Player. I resolved it by loosening the security settings - now the videos play perfectly. See article here:
