Sometimes you need to turn boring, static content into something that's more engaging and interesting! When that need arises, this template is there for you. Simply swap out the text content for your own!
Thanks Nicole for the frequent sharing of new and cool elements in the Storyline production. This creative and practical hovering functionality certainly be another applause of the work of many who use Storyline. I always love your templates!
Thank you, Nicole. This is great. I love the clean look of it in addition to the blurred background. I could see myself using this in various projects. This is also the first time I've seen the Dancing Script OT font. Love it!
Nice is an understatement and tricky isn't the best description. Clever is the word I would use. Love how you used states to incorporate the text, graphics and animations. Very impressed!
Excellent use of States. I inherited a project for a client and was SO frustrated trying to edit some text when I couldn't get it to show up for editing, but it was present during preview. The tricksy little ID who created it had used States for a set of text box reveals based on learner actions. Will never forget that and it's good to see others putting that technique to use. Well done, Nicole.
Well put! I had little experience with states until I found this amazing template. The key to understanding this gem is exactly what you hit on: The use of States. Nicely done!
Always impressed with the level of engagement available within the Storyline community. It's one of the key things that set you apart from your competitors.
Brilliant! I saw this a couple of weeks ago, and my Storyline users group spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out how you did this. We recreated it with layers and triggers, but it was cumbersome. This is so simple and clean! Thank you for sharing.
Neat effect Nicole. Got me on this one! As Michelle mentioned above, we spent a good hour constructing a similar (more complicated) version using the background image as a mouse-off effect and layers. Our text fly-in animation isn't as smooth though.
If anyone would like the alternate more complicated version:

Is it just text that can do the cool fly in/out effects? I tried to have shapes fly in and the animations all went haywire (i.e., jumped up and down constantly).
Hey Michelle,
Try this. Apply the animation effect to the shape object first. Then, cut the shape, edit the states of the other object, and then paste.
Sometimes trying to apply an animation effect inside an objects states doesn't work. But if you apply the animation effect to the shape first and the paste into another object's states the effect remains.
Very nice activity. Because this uses the hover state, though, I figure it would not work for mobile (touchscreen) users. To serve those users, I'd expect to have to add click actions to each button, to toggle the text on and off.
This is great, thanks for sharing. I'm trying to download this but I'm getting a message that Adobe Acrobat could not open "HoverandRevealTemplate" because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). Any idea why I can't download this? Thanks
thanks for sharing this template. just curious. can we use these templates for building the learning modules. Are there any copyright issues... new user..just a bit concerned as it takes good amount of efforts and time to come up with such templates
Can anyone help me, please? I use Storyline 360. I can open this and use it without a hitch. Love it! Thank you so much for sharing! But on mine, I see no triggers or states or layers or anything. Could you please tell me how I would be able to view those so I can see how this was created? It is absolutely fantastic!
