Very cool, but I would suggest replacing the drag and drop interaction with clicking. Here's why: Despite the presence of textual instructions that say, "Drag the circle to explore our history", I found myself resorting to habitual behaviour - clicking. Dragging the mouse is usually reserved for scrolling. There's usually a visual indicator, a scroll bar, to let me know that I must drag. If that visual cue isn't present, people are going to click. That behaviour is so habitual that it's automatic. As a result, learners will be confused by this timeline interaction despite the presence of instructions. (The only exception that I can think of is interfaces that remind users of video and arcade games, where the controls are a bit different.) The white text on the semi-transparent... Expand

Hi Anne (and Steve) I have just used Matt's timeline (thanks Matt, looks great) and seen issue when duplicating. I simply duplicated slide, but then had to change the name of the object titled 'Slider 1' on the duplicated slide. Ie on first slide the slider will be 'Slider 1' and will be linked to a variable titled 'Slider 1'. When you duplicate the slide: - go to one of the triggers (ie show layer trigger) and open for editing; - in the 'Show Condition' field it will state the name of the variable that the trigger is linking to (ie Slider 2); - you need to change the name of the slider object on this slide so that it is named the same as the variable. ie to do this: - on the timeline, find the slider object; - double click on its name, and rename it the same as what ...
