This customizable drag-and-drop interaction lets you give your users more control over resetting the interaction or leaving it completed. It also returns incorrectly dragged items, and leaves correct ones upon submit (locking them down until they are reset so they cannot be moved again).
Very nice. I like it because it gives the participant, who didn't get them all correct, some encouragement, and they don't have to start all over again.
Thank you, its just a lot of repeat and with the new triggers panel it makes it easy to duplicate many triggers quickly, so hopefully it is not too hard to follow.
If you want the items (draggers) to be text and the drop to be pictures you can do that by going into the states for each object and swapping them out. For instance for the drop boxes, (drop1_target_gra) go into that state and replace the graphic there with yours. On the draggers, you can do the same, edit the states, but change the box to a fill with 99% transparency and no outline, then change the text to what you would like. I hope that helps, sorry so late on this!
A question about the trigger on the button try again - hide layer comes before the trigger to move the shapes...... would not then mean they don't return to the starting position?
Sorry for the delay, I didn't notice the question asked of me. It has been awhile since I looked at this. Hide fires first, the rest still fire, thereafter. They return, did they not for you?
Hey Jeff - I got it to work, didn't use the logic layer somehow! and was worried that hiding the layer first would prevent the other actions from occuring.
Thanks for your help on this
Hey Jeff,
Thank you so much for sharing. It's amazing!
I’m new to the storyline and I’m learning through your template.
I have noticed some issues when I publish it.
Everything works well when I review. However, after I published, some elements(texts and animations ) go missing. For instance, the reset button can not be clicked. It’s happened when I play the SWF file and when I insert it into PowerPoint. I’ve tried several times, it keeps happening. However, when I browsed the Html file on an Internet browser, everything works well.
Do you know how can I solve the issues? Thank you so much for your help!
Sorry for the delay in my reply. This file was created awhile ago, so it might show Flash in the publishing settings. Sine you are discussing SWFs there should be no Flash or SWFs as they have been deprecated and not supported anymore. Be sure to select HTML5 for your publish settings.
Hi jeff,
I'm having some issues. I deleted the 5th object and turned the triggers off/adjusted the ones that affected it. But, now the submit button isn't working. I'm not sure what I did wrong. I'd love any help you can offer.
Sorry for the delay, do you want to send me your file? I can take a look? Do you mean the CHECK button is not becoming active now? If so, make sure that the trigger on the main level beginning with "Set state of check_btn - "CHECK" to Normal has the state removed for the dragger btn you are not using.
Yes, I mean the check button is not becoming active.
For the Set State of Check Btn Check to normal when state of all rectangles is dropped, I unchecked the Dragger_04. So, i don't know why it isn't changing to a normal state. I also disabled all the triggers associated with the dragger object 4/drop5 target gra (the drop spot for drop 4).
I would love for you to take a look, thank you. Where can I send the file? I can't attach a file to this comment.
