I am new to e-learning. I understand how the slider works now, but not how you incorporated actual calculations. Please advise. Also, what I love is using narration to explain what to do before allowing the learner to do it themselves to increase their learning. GREAT JOB, Mark.
Very nice work here, Mark! I'm as curious about the steps you took to create the calculations as I am impressed by the actual product you've developed. Were you able to do this with existing Storyline features or did it involve additional coding?
Hi, Everyone! Apology for the delay - my notifications don't seem to be working well. Unfortunately, I am not able to share the Storyline file, but I can share the javascript (see below) used in the calculation portion. It's fairly straightforward, but feel free to reach out with any questions.
var cost1 = 0
var ret1 = 0
var top = 0
var r1 = 0
var player = GetPlayer();
cost1 = player.GetVar("cost1");
ret1 = player.GetVar("ret1");
top = ret1-cost1
r1 = (top/cost1)*100
var r1rounded = Math.round(r1);
player.SetVar("r1", r1rounded);
This is triggered when either slider is moved.
This is such a great way to demonstrate a complex idea! I really love the drag and drop scenario with the detailed text from a report and then plug in the numbers.
Hi Mark,
Thank you for sharing a great course! I want to ask a few questions.
1. Did you use Storyline 360, or other version?
2. Which template did you use?
Our client like your course for its simple navigational design and the fact that the main course frame expands almost to the entire browser window. If I could, I would like to use the same template to achieve the same visual result.
Thank you in advance.
Thanks everyone! Tomiko, to answer your questions:
- I did use Storyline 360.
- I built it from scratch without a template.
- Regarding the browser window, here's a link with lots of info on publishing settings: https://community.articulate.com/series/articulate-storyline-360/articles/articulate-storyline-360-user-guide-how-to-change-the-browser-settings-and-player-size
Hope that helps!
