Engage 360: Adding Videos
Enhance your Engage 360 interactions with videos from any of three sources:
Adding a Video from a File
Important: Videos will be automatically synchronized with the interaction and controlled by the seekbar (although you can choose to provide a separate playbar for videos). If you want to insert an interactive SWF file that plays independently of the interaction and isn’t controlled by the seekbar, insert it as a Flash movie instead.
Here’s how to insert a video from a file:
- Select the step where you want to add a video.
- Click the Video icon in the media panel and select Video from File.
- Browse to the video you want to use and click Open.
These file formats are natively supported in Engage:
- FLV
- MP4
- SWF
These file formats will be converted to MP4 in Engage:
- 3G2
- 3GP
- ASF
- AVI
- DV
- M1V
- M2V
- M4V
- MOV
- MPE
- MPEG
- MPG
- QT
- WMV
After adding a video, you can preview it using the play/pause and stop buttons below the video thumbnail in the media panel. To adjust the video properties, see this user guide. To edit the video, see this user guide.
Adding a Video from a Website
Engage makes it easy to embed videos that are hosted on popular websites such as YouTube and Vimeo.
Note: Website videos play independently of the slide and aren’t controlled by the seekbar.
- Select the step where you want to add a video.
- Click the Video icon in the media panel and select Video from Website.
- Copy the video embed code from the hosting website, and paste it into the Insert Video from Website box.
- Click Insert.
After adding a video, you can preview it using the play/pause and stop buttons below the video thumbnail in the media panel. To adjust the video properties, see this user guide. To edit the video, see this user guide.
