As someone who’s spent a lot of time working with (and on!) Storyline 360, I’ve come to appreciate the power in the little things — those lesser-known features that quietly make our lives easier. Here's one of my personal favorites: 🎧📽️ Cue Points with the “C” Key: I recently spoke with a customer who struggled to time trigger actions to audio and video media on their slides. They would preview the slide, make note of when a trigger should be fired, then return to slide authoring view to add a cue point to the timeline to tie into the trigger event. This would require a lot of manual back-and-forth between authoring and previewing. I often have to do the same thing, and there is an easier way. If you use stage preview (accessible via the "Play" icon" in the lower-left corner of the Timeline panel), Storyline will stay in the slide authoring view and play the timeline of the slide, including any audio or video media that's present. As it plays, you can press the "C" key on your keyboard to have cue points added to the current playback position. It’s a simple way to place cue points in real time, right where they’re needed — perfect for syncing trigger actions to specific moments in your media. cting Storyline 360's UI and using the "C" key to drop cue points on the timeline. Now I’m curious: What’s your favorite under-the-radar Storyline feature? Something small, subtle, maybe even a little obscure — but that you personally couldn’t live without. Drop it in the comments — I’d love to learn what little gems you rely on. 👇2KViews12likes39CommentsCanvas LMS Integration on Pages
Hi all, I am working with Canvas LMS and hoping to be able to put rise elements within pages on Canvas, however every time I try to make the iFrame responsive, I get a scrollbar on the side (or sometimes even a double scroll). Does anyone have any tips or solutions?11Views0likes0CommentsNew in Storyline 360: Round score percentage option
Most of the hype around Storyline releases lately has centered on AI features. While AI is an area we're focused on, we understand that there are other ways to add value. Sometimes we ship something far less flashy that solves a very real, very common pain point in a simple way. We just added a "Round quiz score percentage" option in Quiz Settings. Check this new option, and the score percentage automatically rounds to a whole number. No more 84.7% when you really want 85%. If you’ve been around Storyline for a while, you know this has been a long-standing request. I’ve always appreciated how the community shares JavaScript trigger workarounds to fill the gap. That creativity is part of what makes Storyline special. At the same time, you should not have to break out JavaScript just to round a number. The attached gif shows exactly where to find the new option in the Quiz Settings dialog. When you’ve had a chance to try it, I’d love to hear: - Does this cover your quiz score rounding needs? - Are there other “small but annoying” workarounds we could eliminate? The little things matter. Keep them coming.Publishing Rise 360 Web-based Output
We’re running into an issue with a client’s Rise 360 web export. After exporting for web and providing the files to the client’s IT team, they attempt to upload the module to their website. However, when they try to launch it, they’re prompted with an Articulate login screen and can’t proceed any further. Has anyone experienced this before? Any ideas what might be causing the login prompt when using web output?28Views0likes2CommentsSmall gap between slide content and player
This is something I've noticed in Storyline for a few years now. 9 times out of 10, there is usually a small 1px gap between the edge of my slide content and the player, making it impossible to create seamless content. The small gap also shows some content, but not others. The location of the small gap also seems to be random across the 4 sides. For example, below is a screenshot from one of my latest courses (in both Chrome and Edge). You can see the small gap between all edges of the slide and the player, with the edges more prominent in Chrome. The gap does appear slightly in the Storyline Preview, but is much worse in published content (either to SCORM or Review 360). The slides are 1080x1920. For reference, the below screenshots were all taken on a 4k monitor at 100% page zoom. It appears to be a responsive scaling issue, as the gaps change affect edges depending on the window size, the browsers zoom, etc. To try and mitigate this issue, I extended the edges of the blue rectangle shapes outside of the slide bounds, but those objects get culled so you can see the gap, but some objects that are beneath those objects are still visible. Has anyone else come across this issue (my entire team have), and if so, have you tried anything that has fixed the issue? Making edits to the SCORM package JS or CSS sheets isn't a viable workaround, as it needs to be corrected in the Review 360 versions (for client reviews). Additionally, can anyone at Articulate touch on whether this is a known bug and/or if its on a patch roadmap? Please note: I can't upload the Storyline file due to privacy, however, I can confirm this has happened in almost all of the Storyline modules we produce across multiple versions, browsers, and operating systems. Above: Storyline Preview. Very small gap between the left and right edge of the blue banner at the bottom. Above: Review 360 - Chrome. Very visible gaps along all edges of the slide, where you can also see objects that go outside the edges of the slide. Above: Review 360 - Edge. Barely visible gaps along the blue edges of the slide. Above - Left: Zoomed in screenshot of the bottom of a slide with custom navigation arrows, where you can see the button between the bottom of the blue rectangle and the player. Above - Right: Zoomed in screenshot of the Master slide showing the blue rectangle is extended past the slide bounds completely covering the bottom of the button so its not visible. The blue bar has been moved on the right edge to show where the edge of the slide is, purely for the purpose of the screenshot. Note: Interestingly, when I tried to screenshot the button being visible in the gap, if the browser window lost focus, the button would disappear from the gap.158Views0likes5CommentsEmbed Youtube Video - Error 153
Hello, Has something changed in Storyline?! I'm trying to embed a YouTube video using "iframe". I'm copying the embed code from YouTube, but it says 'Watch video on Youtube - Erro 153...'. I used: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dqaN76shzJE?si=F_NwSZruLu5BJAU6" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> Any/all help would be appreciated. Hello everyone, I'm a little confused about themes, master slides, and theme colors. In the attached sample slides and images, you can see that a variety of themes are listed under "Design" - "This project." If I switch to the master level, I also find a variety of slide masters there. My goal, however, would be to only use the theme under "Custom." What do I have to do for that? I'm having a similar problem with the "Design" - "Colors" section. There, under "This project," I see two color blocks that I'd actually like to delete and replace with the custom theme colors "Diakonie." How can I delete or edit the preset themes or colors? When I right-click, there's only the "Apply" option, but not the "Delete or Edit" option. I'm happy to hear any tips ;-)284Views0likes5CommentsTimeline not in sync with Audio
I thought I saw a post on this recently, but I can't find it. I have a timeline that should pause at a cue point. I need to set the cue point at least 3 seconds after the audio stops for it to work. I noticed everything on the timeline is out of sync. This is a .story file that was published over 3 years ago I'm updating with some new audio in other slides. Has anyone else having this issue or do I need to put a case in for this?47Views0likes3Comments
