Video Workshop: How to Build a Video Gallery in PowerPoint & Studio '13
Media galleries are a great way to present multiple images or videos that your learners can browse through one at a time. If you work with a lot of video-based courses, this format will make a fabulous addition to your e-learning toolkit.

In this video workshop, you’ll learn how to build a media gallery, just like this one, including how to create your own theme fonts and colors, set up text and picture placeholders to control the alignment for on-slide objects, and customize your projects player using Presenter ‘13’s player options.
Step 1: Setting Up Your Slide Size
In this first lesson, you’ll prepare your project files by customizing the slide dimensions and orientation to display in portrait mode on mobile devices.
Step 2: Creating the Theme Fonts and Theme Colors
In this lesson, you’ll learn to customize PowerPoint’s Theme Fonts and Theme Colors to ensure consistent font and color use across your entire project.
Step 3: Creating the Slide Master Layouts and Placeholders
In this lesson, you’ll learn how to work with PowerPoint’s text and image placeholders to ensure consistent alignment of your on-slide elements.
Step 4: Adding the Video Gallery Headers
In this lesson you’ll work with PowerPoint’s basic shapes and color fills to create the background graphics for the video titles.
Step 5: Adding the Video Thumbnails, Titles, and Descriptions
In this lesson, you’ll learn how to add the image thumbnails, titles, and descriptions for your media gallery.
Step 6: Creating the Video Slides
In this lesson, you’ll set up the slides for each of the six videos. Since each image thumbnail will link to a specific video, you’ll need to create a new slide for each video.
Step 7: Adding the Hyperlinks and Navigation
In this lesson, you’ll add the interactive elements that enable learners to browse your media gallery’s videos.
Step 8: Creating the Selector Graphic
In this lesson, you’ll work with PowerPoint’s basic shapes and properties to create the visual feedback graphics that indicate the currently selected video.
Step 9: Previewing and Testing Your Template
In this lesson, you’ll work with Studio ‘13’s preview and publishing options to test your project.
Step 10: Customizing the Player
In this final lesson, you’ll learn how to customize the course player’s look and feel and playback properties.
