Articulate not playing for students in Moodle
Jul 13, 2011
Hey everyone,
I'm hoping someone has some help for me on this question. I'm using Moodle 2.0 and have embedded some activities which were created using Articulate's Studio 9 Engage software. I upload the zipped files to my site, unzip, etc., then embed them in the course text pages using HTML coding. So far no problems. Everything opens and plays fine. Even when I've conducted a review with another developer on his computer, we'll go through the course and not seem to have problems.
However, when we switch to "student" role or a beta-test student signs in, the window where our activities use to play shows a spinning "wait" icon and gives me the response, "sorry, this activity is currently hidden." After that, it shows me (not the activity) but a view of the home page for the course, all within the normal window area.
This doesn't happen every time...for instance, when I recorded this video (http://screencast.com/t/LDxvolBiyeKe) to demonstrate the issue, it opens fine. However, I need to figure out what is going on before we go live.
Any suggestions on what we're doing wrong? Or something else?
Thanks for the help!
Wade

Hi Wade & welcome to Heroes,
It sounds like your students don't have the credentials to view the activity since they're getting the "sorry, this activity is currently hidden" message. I'd recommend verifying the access privileges on that activity to see if you can resolve the issue that way.
Brian, thanks...that's helpful. I'm taking a look at their access now. It's just difficult knowing what they need to have access to because Moodle has all these different categories, lessons, quizzes, activities, etc. and they don't exactly translate.
Thanks,
Wade
