Customizing the Next Slide button - but what about Previous?

Aug 14, 2012

I have just read the above tutorial.

In an Engage process where you need to go through all the steps before proceeding to the Next Slide, is there a way of also giving an option to go to the Previous slide without having to use the Articulate Player?

We would like to take off the Articulate Player navigation buttons but if we do so, then the user cannot go back from the Engage process interaction to read previous slides.

Would appreciate some help!

Thanks

Anne

Hi Anne, and welcome! Unfortunately, there isn't an option to add a Previous Slide button to the actual Engage interaction itself, although that would make a great feature request. What you might consider doing, as a workaround, is to change the View Mode on just your Engage slide, so that it shows in No Sidebar or Standard view. That way the back button would be available to your learners so that they could back up if needed.

Another idea, although it's not officially supported, is to insert a hyperlink on your Engage segments, which directs learners back to the slide before the Engage interaction. If you'd like to explore how to do that, Dave Moxon did a blog post on the how-tos: http://daveperso.mediaenglishonline.com/2009/01/27/how-to-link-from-engage-to-presenter/
