Exporting Engage Content to Another Engage Interaction

Jul 02, 2014

In my recent upgrade to Articulate Presenter '13, I lost key functionality in my language course.  I have hundreds of 3-column table inserted into a slide as a web object. Example:

Hello         Hola     OH-lah

Goodbye  Adios    ah-dee-OHS

The Spanish word and pronunciation had an audio file attached to them.  I have thousands of words this way throughout my courses.  Now, the clickable web object does not work on an iPad or mobile phone.

So...what to do?

Being a language course, my learners must be able to hear the pronunciation of the words.

We have tried:

1)  Copying/pasting our vocab words from our Excel spreadsheet.  BUT can't seem to attach the audio file to a particular word.  Is there a way to do this?  It seems to be importing audio is for the entire slide itself - not just for a highlighted word.

2)  Using our other Engage (Media Tour) interaction created for each unit that includes vocab/audio/photos and have it show as Multiple Items.  This would work great, but there does not seem to be a way to change the Step Name - it is coming in as the photo.jpg name and does not look good.  Is there to change this Step Name?

3)  Export out content (photo/audio/captions) from this Engage Interaction (Media Tour) and import it into Engage Glossary.  Is there a way to do this?

4)  Creating an Engage Glossary interaction.  There does not seem to be a way to import our thousands of words from Excel.  Is there?

What other ways can you think of where we can use our existing Excel spreadsheet and audio files without having to go one and one and re-do everything?  My husband is a software engineer and has been looking at XML files and other ways to get some of this done, but it does not look possible.

Please help.  What I thought would be an easy upgrade is turning out to be 100s of hours of tedious work...
