If I've understood correctly, you have imported an Engage Process Interaction into Storyline 2? Is that right?
As explained in this article, "Engage interactions are imported into Storyline as web objects, meaning they'll play as standalone interactions that are simply embedded in your course." For this reason, you cannot directly edit them in Storyline. To add buttons, you can either re-build the interaction in Storyline or go back and edit the Engage file and then re-import it.
You can change the numbering from numbers to letters in Engage easily in the Interaction Properties window (see screenshot).
